I ordered two of these, one for my own home and one for a family member's home. I assembled both in short order and found them to be sturdy, practical, and comfortable enough for the time you use it. The only real criticism I would have is that the finish on the wooden racks is a bit uneven, some areas are darker than others and the underside of the panels are not stained.
But for what you see and what you pay, that is a small complaint and something you may expect from a $25 bench. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this product, but as others have pointed out in their own reviews, it really isn't designed for more than your average sneakers or tennis shoes.

The product arrived as ordered without damage. However, I was overcharged on the shipping by approximately $12 on this item. I was charged $29.50 for shipping on a product weighing 17 pounds (which according to their shipping policy is clearly off the mark). Werfurniture offered a partial return upon my complaint but would not settle up there debt in full. Werfurniture and other companies on Amazon lower there price and overcharge on the shipping to compete in a marketplace with false pricing. Please weight your packages before opening and put up a fight for your money, even if it's only for $7. Internet companies are ripping people off.
Werfurniture has since upped the price and lowered their shipping on this item. My complaints to Amazon must have turned a few heads.

Great Shoe Rack for Doorway entranceJun 24, 2010
This shoe rack looks very nice and fits more shoes than I had hoped for! We are a family of 7, 5 kids and 2 adults. We have no problem fitting many pairs of shoes on this bench, plus book bags on top! Easy to assemble, too.

This is made in Vietnam and it shows - good quality, sturdy construction and all real wood rather than compressed fiberboard that you might find in some locally made products. The finish is rich and dark but.

I love this thing. It's small enough but practical. It looks good, seems sturdy (tested by my ever climbing one year old), and does it's job. And no, you're not going to get your husbands size 12 work boots under there, but I would hope you could see that from the picture. It does what I needed it for beautifully.
