Clarify it several times before you put in your order. I found it to be a nice, heavy weight, though I'm not sure if its solid wood-think its pressed? there were no issues with it looking lightweight or cheap. I consider this a beautiful formal set. I would be proud to entertain 4-6 people on this table. The seats of the chair are very light colored white, so I have left the tight fitting thin plastic on for protection. I found beautiful white placemats to complement the dining set while protecting the chairs.
