SHOES SLIP OFFDec 14, 2008
By PSimon Not for sneakers, mens shoes, or anything without a heel. The slant on the rack is too steep and shoes slip off.

WorthlessAug 07, 2011

We tried to use this near our front door for a year - we're a couple, man and woman, size 12 and 10 respectively.
Shoes don't stay on this rack, and if you try to put a shoe on it, you will bang the shoe into the wall as you try to fool your shoe into staying on the rack. A year later - and 6 Mr Clean magic eraser pads later, had to clean the wall that much - I trashed this rack, and I was so happy to see it go into the garbage that I thought I'd write a review about the experience, because, hey, that's the kind of thing you'd want to know before you buy it, isn't it?
There's no reason that shoes should sit on a tilted surface. Get a shoe shelf that has a flat surface for the shoes and save yourself a lot of hassle.

Works great with a little cheap modificationJun 25, 2011
By tiasmom0707 I was restricted as to the height of the shoe rack I could use and this rack fit the bill. Yes, it is chrome, so it is slick if you are storing shoes with no heel (tennis shoes, house shoes, etc.) No big deal - just made a trip to the local RV dealer and picked up a small sheet of gritted non-slip material that is sold for RV steps. Cut a few strips about 1/2 inch wide, applied them to the rack in just a few minutes and now shoes never slip off! (Could have probably found non-slip material it at a hardware store.) Very pleased with how wide this little rack extends and the height is perfect for our needs. Come to think of it, could probably just rough up the top of the bars a little with sand paper and get the same effect. For the cheap price, I didn't mind putting a few minutes effort in it. I'm very satisfied with the purchase.

Good shoe rack, a bit overpriced on AmazonMay 24, 2009

Bought 2 of these shoe racks on Amazon during a gold box sale, but it's still overpriced. Later on found the same rack in Big Lots for $11
Aside from the price, the rack itself is decent. Fairly sturdy, very easy to assemble, I got 2 and built a 4 layer rack, fits all the shoes the ladies in my family has. Finally a cleaner entry way. You can extent it to about 4 ft wide, so it does fit a lot of shoes when you use even just 1 set.
It is a bit narrow on the layers, so for girl shoes, it's fine, for sneakers, it doesn't fit in the middle rows, only the top row.
